The whole school celebrated Commonwealth Day, taking part in dance workshops experiencing a style of dance from different countries of the Commonwealth, including Indian dance, Caribbean dancing, Greek dancing and even the New Zealand Haka.
The whole school celebrated Commonwealth Day last week. We had a dance workshop where each class experienced a style of dance from different countries of the Commonwealth. KS1 and Class R enjoyed Indian dance, Class 3 and 6 tried Caribbean dancing, Class 4 linked there Greek topic to Cyprus and tried Greek dancing. Class 5 even got to try the Haka from New Zealand. As part of their class work the children also learnt about the values of the commonwealth and why it is a significant partnership of countries and cultures.
